Throughout this course, you will learn how to coordinate services, support people with complex needs, develop and review case management plans, work within legal and ethical frameworks, respond to crisis situations and lead professional practice in community services.

The qualification includes 100 hours of workplace learning and assessment, allowing you to apply your learning directly within your current workplace.

For full fee-paying students:

  • A $1,000 deposit is required at least 7 days prior to commencement.
  • The remaining balance can be paid through an interest-free payment plan over six months.
  • All outstanding course fees must be paid before a qualification or Statement of Attainment can be issued.

Who Is This Course For?

This qualification is designed for existing workers in the community services sector who are ready to progress into more senior roles involving case management, service coordination or leadership.

This course may be suitable if you are:

  • An experienced Support Worker looking to advance your career.
  • A Senior Support Worker wanting to move into case management.
  • A Team Leader or Coordinator seeking a nationally recognised qualification.
  • Working in disability, aged care, mental health or other community services settings.
  • Looking to develop advanced skills in client assessment, service coordination and person-centred case management.
  • Seeking career progression into leadership or supervisory positions.
  • Already employed in a community services role that allows you to complete the required workplace assessment activities.

Applicants typically hold a Certificate IV or higher qualification in Community Services or a related field. Applicants with substantial vocational experience may also be considered following a successful entry interview and Foundation Skills Assessment.

Course Delivery

Quest Training delivers this qualification using a flexible blended learning model designed for people who are already working in the community services sector.

Training includes:

  • Structured self-paced learning.
  • Workplace-based learning and assessment.
  • Practical workplace projects.
  • Individual trainer and assessor support.
  • First Aid workshop (where Credit Transfer is not applicable).

Students can complete the qualification over 12–24 months, allowing flexibility to study around work and family commitments.

Work Placement

This qualification requires completion of at least 100 hours of workplace learning and assessment.

As this course is designed for existing community services workers, these hours are generally completed within your current employment.

Your workplace must provide opportunities to demonstrate the skills required throughout the qualification, including case management, service coordination and supervisory activities where applicable.

Entry Requirements

Although there are no mandatory entry requirements specified by the Training Package, Quest Training has established entry requirements to ensure students are prepared for Diploma-level study.

Applicants should:

  • Hold a Certificate IV or higher qualification in Community Services or a related field,

OR

  • Demonstrate vocational experience that has provided the knowledge and skills equivalent to those expected of an experienced community services worker.

Applicants without a relevant qualification may still be considered following an individual assessment that includes:

  • Foundation Skills Assessment
  • Entry interview
  • Vocational suitability interview

As workplace assessment is required, applicants must already be employed in the community services sector in a role that provides sufficient opportunity to demonstrate the workplace performance requirements of the qualification.
