Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Recognition of Current Competence (RCC)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Recognition of Current Competence (RCC) are forms of assessment used to determine whether a person has already achieved through formal training, informal training or work experience, the required competencies for a particular qualification they wish to undertake.
This will give the participant recognition for competencies already achieved rather than asking them to repeat work.
Quest Solutions promotes RPL/RCC to all new clients. At your initial meeting it will be explained to you that if you gather enough evidence from your workplace you could potentially finalise units without having to complete course work.
This can sometimes be a confusing subject for people not familiar with this type of training. As a result, Quest Solutions has designed the attached documents as an easy to use guide to assist you in receiving RPL/RCC where applicable.
If you feel you already have the competency level for any of the subjects you have chosen to study, please complete the relevant page and attach any evidence you feel would support your request for RPL/RCC. We have listed a few ways you may be able gather evidence and this may help you decide on what is best for you. Once you have gathered the evidence, forward it to your assessor.
Your assessor will then assess the evidence you have supplied and liaise with you on whether it is sufficient. If not, you can gather further evidence in support of your claim and submit it again. Once this process is completed a final verbal assessment may be conducted to complete the process.
